Card proving disability is an initiative of the Generalitat of Catalonia led by the Department of Social Action and Citizenship, which comes under the Social Services Act and the Declaration of Nations for Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The card allows people with disabilities legally recognized and habitually resident in Catalonia, demonstrate a flexible and practical to people, their degree of disability. Explicitly be issued to those who already have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%, provisional or final, or, well, at the request of any person having legal representation.
The card will have two distinct features:
1.La Card allows witness to the recognition of the degree of disability and to serve as documentary evidence of this recognition, eliminating the need to constantly ask for paper certificates as proof of the status of disabled person . The card, however, certification does not replace the grade of disability in paper format. Will have to continue using this format always government that they see fit.
2.La card, besides being a factor which demonstrates, provide access to certain advantages and benefits that can improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. With this objective we will launch an ongoing program of acquisition and improvement of benefits in areas of mobility, culture, sport, leisure and free time in Catalonia, which will be available from April 2010 on the website of Department of Social Action and Citizenship.
